Chinese artificial intelligence laboratory DeepSeek has reportedly secured approximately 15 billion USD from domestic backers, including tech giant Tencent and battery maker CATL. The capital raise stands as one of the largest private tech funding rounds in China.
The massive financing closed just two days after United States federal agencies were ordered to remove DeepSeek software over national security concerns. The startup will utilize the funding to aggressively expand its computing infrastructure and build advanced models.
